Joey Carrier has been accepted into the combined common law and civil law program at McGill University’s Faculty of Law and has earned a scholarship for excellence. He will complete this combined program in 2024 with two university degrees, a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Juris Doctor.

During his law studies, Joey Carrier has volunteered with Innocence McGill, a legal clinic dedicated to researching and investigating allegations of wrongful convictions in Quebec. He also interned at Resilience Legal Information Clinic, a clinic offering legal assistance in various areas of law. An article written by Mr. Carrier during his legal studies was published in a leading Canadian law journal.

In addition to his legal studies, Joey Carrier also completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa, graduating with honours. He graduated with high distinction, two scholarships for excellence, and a Senate medal for graduating with outstanding academic results.

Mr. Carrier is also a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve as an infantry officer.

Mr. Carrier joined Schirm & Tremblay Avocats in 2023 as a student and future articling student at the Barreau du Québec, with his articling period scheduled to begin in 2025.

Mr. Carrier is fluent in English and French.
