Sophie Abergel has a law degree from University of Ottawa, where her academic excellence was recognized by her inclusion in the Dean’s Honour List.

During her university law studies, Ms. Abergel participated in two moot competitions, including the prestigious Gale Cup Moot. Ms. Abergel has worked hard within her faculty, notably by acting as a student mentor and helping organize various events. Ms. Abergel also served as Vice-President of Sponsorship and Internal Affairs for the University of Ottawa Family Law Student Association, as well as Vice-President of the Criminal Law Branch of the University of Ottawa Criminal and Penal Law Student Association.

Throughout her career, Ms. Abergel has worked in the legal field as a law student and legal assistant, including in family law with Legal Aid.

Ms. Abergel joined Schirm & Tremblay Avocats’ team in 2023 as a (law) student and future articling student at the Barreau du Québec, with her articling period scheduled to begin in 2024.

She is fluent in French and English.
